Long time...

Hey folks!

It's been a long time I didn't write anything on my blog, and I apologize for this.

But as today I sorted my photos and did my web gallery for August and September (you could FINALLY enjoy them), I decided to write something on my blog, because my last ticket about Malta dates from the 13th of August... I will try to summarize the lot of things which happened since this date.

Anna (one of my ex-flatmate) left the island in the middle of August to go back to Holland, and has been replaced by a Russian one (who thinks she lives in an hotel...). Sniff :'( I hope we will find another flatmate at least as good as you.

Mieke came to visit me during September. As I could take leave (héhé, holiday on holiday ;), we really enjoyed the stay together. We did a lot of activities, like harbour cruise, Blue lagoon, Gozo, restaurants, chicha, Belgian beers, etc.. And the most important: we were together. That was fantastic.

I also got a job interview to work in Bruxelles. Besides, a couple of friends of mine are moving there. Bruxelles seems to be a really attractive city. I am sure I will enjoy this city ;) If anybody has good tips for logding, don't hesitate to leave a comment please.

Last week-end we celebrated the birthday of Lennox at Gil's place. For the occasion they cooked (not I, otherwise we would have eaten instant chinese noodles...) wonderful lasagne, and we had a chocolate fondue as a dessert. Hmm, so good :)

Yesterday was the welcome BBQ for the ERASMUS students. For this event we went to Golden Bay. We met the new recruits from all over the globe, ready to have fun, enjoy Malta, and maybe work :)
The quote of yesterday would be "Me: Are you ERASMUS or international? A girl: No, I'm Japanese." :)

That's how life in Malta is, coupled by the usual BBQ, Paceville, and so on.

Hope it will keep going like this ;)

Open format - Choose ODF !

There is a currently a petition against the proposal of Microsoft to make their OOXML format an ISO norm. You should go there to sign it : http://www.noooxml.org/petition

For now, Microsoft has just got 74% of yes from 54% of the members, and 75% of yes from 66% of the members are required. The second battle will take place in February 8th. Stay aware !

Thanks to France and the AFNOR for their "NO" and more specifically for their comments which aim to take the best of OOXML to inject it in the ODF format!
