Double carte sim

Et voilà une première contribution qui me vient de l'ami Vivien. Un test d'un petit accessoire pour GSM très pratique pour les gens qui changent souvent de réseau téléphonique, et qui plus est, s'avère d'une utilisation simplissime.

Je m'adresse surtout aux personnes qui sont frontaliers ou de grands voyageurs ;-)

Comme certains le savent déjà, j'ai acheté un adaptateur pour utiliser deux cartes sim dans le même telephone. C'est très pratique pour les frontaliers qui ont une carte SIM FR et une autre LU par exemple (ou BE ou autre..). Ce système permet d'éviter le Roaming.

Il existe deux versions, version 1 et version 2. Tout dépend la compatibilité de votre téléphone avec les deux versions (voir la liste des compatibilités sur le site : http://www.simore.ch/fr/accessoires_pour_mobiles/).

La version 1 oblige de découper les deux cartes SIM alors que la version 2 laisse les cartes intactes. Pour ma part, j'ai un Samsung SGH-400 et seule la version 1 était compatible. Après il existe trois Options Black, Silver et Gold.. J'ai simplement essayé la black.

J'ai donc reçu mon kit SIMore Black 1. Ce kit nécessite une découpe des 2 cartes SIM et ça fait trembler beaucoup d'entre nous de devoir mettre des coups de ciseaux dans la moitié de la puce ! Je me suis quand même lancé, non sans apréhension..

Le package est bien présenté. Il comprend deux autocollants à placer sur les cartes SIM. Ils permettent de mettre des repères pour la découpe. On y trouve également un adaptateur (où l'on met les deux petites SIM découpés), un cache pour ce dernier, et deux cartes de plastique autocollantes pour revenir en arriere et ravoir une SIM au bon format...

J'ai donc appliqué les autocollants sur ma carte SIM FR et sur ma carte SIM LUX. Sur la carte francaise, j'ai découpé un petit peu dans la puce alors que pour la luxembourgeoise, j'ai carrement enlevé une bonne partie de la puce ! Ca fait un peu peur....
J'ai inseré les deux restes dans l'adapteur que j'ai refermé... Enfin, j'ai placé cet adapteur comme carte SIM.

J'ai allumé mon gsm.... il "boot" sur la SIM numéro 1... la française ! Ca fonctionne ! Je remarque qu'une nouvelle icone apparait dans mon menu. C'est l'icone SIMORE. Dans le sous menu, on peut switcher d'un GSM à l'autre. Je me mets sur la SIM2... ca mets 4 secondes et hop... je suis sur le numéro luxembourgeois. Il est possible de programmer un timing pour switcher de l'une à l'autre. C'est vraiment pas mal. Ouff... ca fonctionne....

Ce que je regrette c'est qu'on ne puisse pas utiliser les deux numéros en meme temps. Simore promet d'améliorer cela. Aussi, le fait d'avoir à découper les cartes SIM, c

e n'est pas top. Mais cela est dû au fait que mon gsm était trop ancien. Les nouveaux permettent l'usage de la version 2 !

Trolls et bestioles

This Sunday, we decided to go the museum of fantastic arts to see the exhibition called "trolls and bestioles".

The exhibition is splitted in two sites. The first site is inside the museum itself, and there you could see some posters about trolls and their characteristics, but especially aliens and beasts (very very strange...).

The second site is inside a warehouse, some meters away from the first site, and take place in the "parcours d'artistes" event. It just consists in a carousel where you can sit down and look at strange statues/sculptures/things.

We were kind of disapointed because we expected an heroic-fantasy atmosphere, and instead of that it was rather sinister. We did not even see the trolls except on the poster.

Althought the staff is pretty nice, and they really tried to make it interesting, I don't advice you to go there, it does not worth the price.

Revival

Hi guys!

This is just a special post to announce that I finally decided not to let this blog down, and to give it a try again.

I decided to divide it into several columns according to my interrests. They will be Announce, Debian, Kde, Test, Brussels and Site seeing. Maybe some others will be added in the future, but for now that is what I thought about.

I am also reorganising my photo gallery, and I applied a new design to the blog.

I hope you will like the new way it will work out, and I really hope some people will contribute by writing articles or by leaving constructive comments.

Star Wars Exhibition

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Star Wars Exhibition in Brussels! :) I could not miss it! Moreover, it was an opportunity to convert Mieke ;)




No sooner said than done, we were on our way. We entered in the Star Wars universe. Music, posters, lights everything was there to make the atmosphere fantastic. Barely inside, we saw real mock-up of the podracer of Anakin Skywalker, real clones, and even Dark Vador himself!


We discovered some secrets about the filming, and the places were they did it. Did you know that the pod race had been filmed in Tunisia? No? You should have gone to the exhibition though ;)

You would have also had the honor of seing Yoda, the privilège of discovering Amidala and her numerous beautiful outfits (mainly dresses), the collection of limited and numeroted lightsaber, and for the most fanatic of you, a lot of goodies to buy. Who never dreamed about the R2D2 Projector ?

The exhibition takes place in Tour and Taxis till June, so the afficionados of the saga have still time to go there. Thanks to this, Mieke has totally been immerged in this fabulous universe and now wants to see all the movies. it is really a proof it is worth it. Now, I am going to leave you, we are going to watch the movies ;)

Batibouw

Are you looking for some information to build the house of your dreams? Are you interested in new building technics? Or do you just want to occupy your Sunday? Batibouw is made for you.


Next to the atomium, in the palaces of the national exhibition of 1958, Batibouw takes place every year. For this year, Mieke and I went there just to have a look and be amazed by all the nice things you can use to create the house you have ever dreamed about.



Verandas, swimming pools, fake grass which looks more real than real, giant BBQs, illuminated numbers, solar heating, high-tech kitchens, bathrooms pleasant than some bedrooms, cozy outside living rooms, and so on and so forth.



We spent all our afternoon walking in the middle of stands, collecting documentations and grabbing goodies. It was very instructive and interesting. Maybe one day we will build a house like the ones we saw ;)

New job, new flat, new city, new country and Mieke :)

I am connected to the world again, so I can tell you my stories and keep my blog up to date ;)


I am going to start talking about my new city: Brussels. Brussels is a nice city. It is a capital, but it is not as crowded and as crazy as Paris for example. There is always something to do, like animations, exhibitions, or a bar full of beers to taste.



I walk a lot to explore my new environement and I discovered some strange things like the washing powder vending machine, or this strange wooden structure in a shape of umbrella.

I also started a new job as a develloper. The begining was not very pleasant, but my new project promises to be interesting: create XML web services. In any cases, my new workmates are nice, and there is a nice atmosphere in the office.




I have a new flat too (Wow, there really are a lot of new things ;) where Mieke and I built my new IKEA's furnitures. She built the dinner table all alone, so I don't know how long it is going to stay in one piece... Wait and see ;>



That's all for the news of the moment, but I will keep you posted about the next ones for sure ;) Just before leaving you, here is a "photo souvenir" from the FOSDEM with my two geeky friends who came for this event.

Une exposition particulière

Titre accrocheur ou non, tout cela pour vous décrire l'exposition peu ordinaire à laquelle nous avons assisté avec Aurélie. Le sujet de cette dernière était "L'instant".

Une expo d'art contemporain gratuite à Metz ? Pas mal ça. Allez on-y-va ! Au premier abord, nous avons découvert un petit monticule de sable au milieu d'une pièce. On s'attendait à quelques chose de décalé, je pense donc que c'était un bon départ :)

Pour la suite, Aurélie tenta de déchiffrer une enigme... Sans succès malheureusement :(

Mais nous n'avons pas baissé les bras et continué notre chemin au sein des oeuvres ne demandant qu'a connaître notre interprétation de leur création.

Quelques découvertes à partager

Cette semaine des amis m'ont fait découvrir toute une série de talents plus ou moins talentueux, mais qui sur le coup m'ont quand même bien fait plu. En voici quelques un que j'ai retenu.

Here we are in 2008, "Bonne année, bonne santé et toute la réussite possible pour commencer cette nouvelle année 2008"! I hope this year will bring you lots of good things.


As for me it started very well. I found a very well located flat in Brussels and job at Fortis Insurance Belgium.

I will be closer to Mieke now, and we could keep playing intense mastermind games in the train between Leuven and Brussels.


I also started to cook as you could see on the pictures, and this time it is not a "quiche Lorraine" without dough (wink to Tomtom) ;) My first tries were a vegetable soup and "des roulés de dinde à la moutarde". And nobody died, fainted, or hurled even if Tomtom made strange faces atferward ;)

And to finish, I made a new resolution: keeping this blog up to date.
